The Management of university academic services in online learning

Abstract

This study analyzes the optimization of academic management at Universidad Tecnológica Empresarial de Guayaquil (UTEG) within an online framework. The research stems from the need to strengthen administrative processes in response to a growing student population. The primary objective is to design a continuous improvement model that ensures quality standards and efficient user support.

Adopting a descriptive, mixed-methods (qualitative-quantitative) approach, surveys and interviews were conducted with a sample of 109 students, 26 faculty members, and 14 administrative staff. The results identified three critical areas: 65% faced challenges in technological training, 40% reported errors in the grade registration system, and 55% noted a lack of clear remote work guidelines.

As a solution, the study proposes a model based on three pillars: continuous digital training, operational protocols for remote management, and control systems using performance indicators. The effectiveness of these measures will be evaluated through quarterly audits and satisfaction analysis. In conclusion, implementing this quality management model is essential to addressing the challenges of virtual education, ensuring optimal academic performance and institutional satisfaction.
