The effect of telework on workers is a topic of discussion today. For this reason, the main objective of this research is to determine whether the effect of teleworking is a cause of stress and whether this effect is viewed differently by gender.
This research addresses the theoretical aspects related to telework, its origin, classification, benefits, disadvantages and aspects that affect women when working in this modality. On the other hand, it develops the work stress, the sources of stress and response levels. The results show that, although teleworking tries to promote closeness to home and thus reduce stress, the effect on the staff who carry out their tasks through teleworking increases their stress levels.
This work also shows that women are more likely to do telework, as women now also do paid work with unpaid work. This combination of work and family life leads to a negative effect of teleworking on women and to more stress for women than for men.
