Emprendimiento Turístico como estrategia de Desarrollo Económico de los Países en Vías de Desarrollo

Actualmente, los emprendimientos turísticos son vistos como una buena opción de desarrollo, considerando el hecho de que permiten redistribuir la riqueza en el territorio; por lo que el turismo se considera un medio efectivo de transferencia de riqueza, ya sea a través de gastos turísticos directos o inversiones internacionales en infraestructura de ocio, o mediante la transferencia de recursos y capacidades de países más ricos a países menos desarrollados, e incluso, a nivel nacional, también permite la redistribución de la riqueza a escala nacional – en la India, por ej., el turismo doméstico es significativamente mayor, en términos de viajes turísticos, que el turismo internacional (Singh 2001). Por otro lado, el turismo cuando utiliza la infraestructura natural y gratuita – (e.g., atracciones naturales o artificiales existentes, tales como playas, áreas salvajes o lugares de valor cultural, patrimonial, histórico, geológico o biológico) – posibilita la creación de start-up de bajo costo, cuando comparado, por ejemplo, con otras industrias. Sin embargo, hoy, en nombre de la sostenibilidad, hay una gran inquietud con los temas de protección, mantenimiento y gestión de los destinos turísticos. Por lo tanto, en esta revisión crítica, el emprendimiento turístico se considera una estrategia efectiva para el desarrollo económico anhelado en el territorio.
