Abstract

This study aims to assess the level of knowledge of entrepreneurship and innovation among business science students in Tacna. A quantitative approach with a descriptive design was used, employing a non-probabilistic sample of 239 students out of a total of 626. The data were collected using a validated questionnaire, which showed high reliability (a = 0.740 for entrepreneurship and a = 0.767 for innovation).

The results reveal that, although 89.7% of students are interested in entrepreneurship, there is a notable deficiency in the area of innovation, with only 60.7% stating that they know how to perform product evaluation models. Statistical analysis using Spearman's correlation coefficient indicated a moderate positive correlation (rho = 0.253) between knowledge of entrepreneurship and innovation.

These findings underscore the need to strengthen innovation education to complement students' entrepreneurial skills, proposing the implementation of academic programs that integrate both components. This study is fundamental to the development of a more robust entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Tacna region.
